Task Description
I need a website design for my packaged websites business, 'PackWeb'.
I provide small businesses with pre-packaged, off-the-shelf websites at affordable prices. I operate exclusively online and target small business owners/sole traders, typically aged from 35-55 and who are familiar with using the web (i.e. sending emails, using Facebook, etc.).
I cater to the type of businesses who don't want to spend thousands of dollars, or weeks of design meetings, on a custom website. My websites allows businesses to create an unlimited number of pages and give them full-ownership of the completed site.
I will sell 3 different packages: Essentials, Classic and Premium. Each package builds upon the previous one (i.e. Classic includes everything from Essentials plus a few extras).
The website will be built with Drupal, so design elements are typical of a Drupal website (e.g. regions, blocks, etc.).
The colour scheme of the site should be based around my existing logo (see attached). My slogan is: "Affordable websites packaged for small businesses".
The page designs I require are: Homepage: This will be the general layout that the rest of the site will use. Should include: - Logo & slogan - Search box - Featured content area (either a simple message (e.g. this week's special), or a slideshow (e.g. my USPs or website features)) - Main navigation menu (with drop-down sub-menus, including hover and active states) - Main content area (including page heading, breadcrumb trail, a few paragraphs of text, 2 comments (one a reply to the other) and a form to add a new comment) - Sidebar (including shopping cart, user menu (e.g. my account, logout links), login form (username and password fields) and testimonials) - A section between the main content and footer where I can add extra information (such as a carousel or blocks of links) - Footer (with copyright info, terms & conditions link, etc.)
Package Comparison: This will be a page that lists all the features from each of my packages in a table-like format for easy comparison. Examples of similar pages can be seen here: - http://www.zendesk.com/product/compare - http://www.crazydomains.com.au/web-hosting/compare-plans - https://www.drupalgardens.com/pricing The Classic package should be highlighted in some way to make it stand out as the 'recommended' or 'popular' option.
Typography: A page that displays different HTML elements and their styling. Should include at least: - 4 headings; h1-h4 - A paragraph of text; including a link and an image floated right - A blockquote - A form; including a select (drop-down) box, checkboxes, textfield (all with labels) and a submit button - 2 fieldsets; one expanded, one collapsed - 2 lists; one unordered, one ordered - A full-width table with alternating row background-colours and a header row
I prefer fixed-width designs, but will also consider well thought out fluid-width designs (you may need to include a few different examples of how the site will look at different screen resolutions).
Any fonts used should be available as '@font-face kits' from Font Squirrel: http://www.fontsquirrel.com/fontface
Submitted designs should be either SVG or PSD files. Any icons, fonts, etc. should also be included separately in a ZIP file.
