Task Description
Salience Shopper Solutions is a company offering innovative custom designed display solutions for the retail environment. Based on a deep understanding of the Category and the Shopper requirements display units are designed to enhance a customers shopping experience and improve sales. The design process is based on deep shopper insights, a comprehensive understanding of the clients need, clever industrial design and awareness of what works in a retail context. Our products are high quality and can be high cost so we are looking for a logo that reflects the high quality and sophistication of our product offer.
The word salience means prominent or conspicuous or projecting. The term 'Brand Salience' refers to brand awareness or cut through. We also like the word Salience as it plays on the word Sale. This is the most important part of the brief. We want a clever visual representation of the word salience, potentially with a pictorial element. This is the most important element of the logo design....we want to see a representation of the meaning of salience coming through.
Some ideas that might help around depicting the word salience. A spotlight which highlights the brand - making it standout. Seeing something through binoculars so that the object is clear and conspicuous. Any visual representation of making something stand out from the crowd.
We like the look and feel to be crisp, clean, modern and sophisticated and not busy or complicated.
Salience Shopper Solutions is part of a group of companies providing a range of 'Sales Optimisation' services to a range of customers, largely consumer goods manufacturers and retailers including some big brands.
The look and feel of other companies within the group is modern, clever & fresh but professional given the target audience. The logo design should reflect similar principles.
Whilst we are open to a range of colours our preference is for those invoking elegance and sophistication. Our entire proposition is about making the in store (retail) environment better and easier to shop through truly unique and clever display solutions.

Reason: Again I have updated the brief to see if we can get additional designs closer to our requirements. At this stage we don't have any suitable work submitted. Added Wednesday, September 05, 2012 - Hello Everyone
I have just updated the brief again to provide additional direction on our requirements.

The words Shopper Solutions should be de-emphasised and possibly be under the word Salience in the logo.
Any form of logo will be considered.
Nice to Have:
- Some cleverness to the treatment of the word Salience with a play on the letters s a l e, however don't be limited by this requirement.
Should Not Have:
- Nothing old style or predictable or overly colourful, playful or complicated.
